ALEXANDRA STRATKOTTER

ABOUT ME

Alexandra (Alex for short) is the proud owner of Florals and Floss Embroidery, located in Edmonton, Alberta. Alex has been in the art and design community for over 10 years, exploring oil portraiture and acrylic abstract paintings. In 2017, she discovered her love of embroidery and traded her brushes for floss.

Alex sells handmade embroidery hoops as home decor and teaches embroidery in person at Fern’s School of Textile Craft. She also sells embroidery kits and patterns found on her Etsy shop.

You can find Alex’s work year round on her website, and the Royal Alberta Museum gift shop. Or once a year at Royal Bison Fair.

LEARN TO EMBROIDER

WORKSHOPS

The ancient craft of embroidery is back on the rise, and for good reason! It’s a relaxing and timeless art which requires little setup and few tools. What it does require is a bit of know-how, patience, and a few tricks to master your needle and floss. Alex’s workshops will take you through the complete process of embroidery, from start-to-finish, and discuss various ways to transfer patterns to fabric, fundamental embroidery stitches, tips and tricks, finishing techniques to display your hoop, and favorite products and fabrics and where to find them. Workshop registrants will take home supplies for project completion, or future projects.

VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS
